Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in New York, NY is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a New York-based team responsible for AWS SDKs across multiple languages.

You will guide technical direction, ensure healthy operations, and own the roadmap for your SDKs while collaborating with AWS services and customers. The role is hands-on in design reviews, code reviews, and operational decisions, with a focus on building a strong, sustainable team and maintaining backward compatibility

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience.
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience.
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

The AWS SDKs and Tools are the gateway to the 200+ AWS services. We are looking for a Software Development Manager to help build AWS SDKs for multiple programming languages. These SDKs are used by developers and operations teams around the world. You have the opportunity to work directly with customers. We build out in the open, are passionate about developer experience and client side tools, and are currently looking for a seasoned engineering manager to help us make this experience even better.

The AWS SDKs and Tools organization builds the libraries and tools developers and agents use to build on AWS. Our SDKs ship in many programming languages, support every AWS service, and are used by millions of developers. Our SDKs are open source and you have the opportunity to work directly with customers and to collaborate across AWS services.

We're looking for a Software Development Manager to lead a New York-based team of engineers who own several AWS SDKs. You'll set technical direction, keep operations healthy, and own the roadmap for your SDKs. You'll hire and grow engineers, balance new features with long-term maintainability and backward compatibility, and partner with sister SDK teams to ship features that span every language. The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
