Amazon's AWS Insights and Optimizations (AIO) team seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead the Optimization Control Plane, owning vision, architecture, and delivery of a scalable API platform that serves globally distributed customers.
You will grow and develop a high‑performing team of engineers, drive the 2026 roadmap including generative AI enhancements, and collaborate with partner teams to align on business objectives and reliable delivery.
The AWS Insights and Optimizations (AIO) team owns cloud insight and optimization products, where customers can understand, control and optimize usage of the AWS cloud. Optimizations is an AIO pillar with the mission of giving customers peace of mind that they are using AWS as efficiently as they can. This means surfacing, organizing, and helping customers implement all manner of optimization opportunities that drive them to efficient resource configurations; help them take advantage of our elasticity, tiering, and purchase options; and shut down or hibernate unused resources (among other opportunities). Over time, we will enable and deliver an intelligent and automated resources orchestration and management experience across AWS.
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead our Optimization Control Plane team. This team owns the API platform that powers our Optimization products and partners closely with service teams across AWS. As the leader, you will own the vision, architecture, and delivery of a scalable, reliable API platform; grow and develop a team of engineers; and drive the 2026 roadmap, including 1) designing the next generation of the control plane to meet evolving optimization product needs; 2) expanding recommendations to cover fast-growing areas of the business; and 3) enhancing our recommendation products with generative AI. If you love building high-performance software, stay current with the latest advances in the industry, and are eager to deliver exceptional optimization products to customers, this role is for you.
