Job summary

Amazon Web Services' Elastic Block Store (EBS) team seeks a Software Development Manager to define and build scalable storage systems in the cloud. You will lead engineering teams, mentor engineers, and collaborate across AWS to deliver secure, high-performance software for disk I/O.

Based in Boston, MA, this role focuses on people leadership, end-to-end delivery, and driving best practices across the SDLC, including live-site operations and AI/accelerator deployments where relevant.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of engineering experience.
• Knowledge of the full software/hardware/networks SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations, or experience in developing and deploying LLMs in production on GPUs, Neuron, TPU or other AI acceleration hardware

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of engineering experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product and program management teams
• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations, or experience in developing and deploying LLMs in production on GPUs, Neuron, TPU or other AI acceleration hardware

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
