Job summary

Audible is seeking a Software Development Manager for the Android team to lead a group of engineers and drive end-to-end delivery of cross-functional projects. You will partner with Audible and Amazon teams to design, build, and launch high-quality software that reaches millions of listeners daily.

You will guide a high-performing team, foster growth, and push for delivery excellence in a fast-paced agile environment, influencing architecture and operational practices across the apps space.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• 8+ years leading multi-tier web services development.
• Knowledge of SDLC, code reviews, source control, build, testing and live-site ops.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 10-15 Software Development Engineers.
• Own and lead full lifecycle delivery of cross-functional projects.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to imagine, design, develop, test, and launch software.
• Raise delivery performance and quality in a fast agile environment.

As a Software Development Manager, you will:

• Manage a team of 10 - 15 Software Development Engineers
• Own and lead full life cycle delivery of cross functional projects spanning teams across Audible and Amazon
• Partner with cross-functional teams to imagine, design, develop, test, and launch software that wows our community and inspires our peers
• Constantly strive to raise the bar on delivery performance and quality in a fast agile environment
• Work directly with a team of our high-performing engineers to help them grow their skills, coach them to scale their abilities and to drive development and operational excellence in Android, and broader in the apps space

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
