Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead the Alameda team, owning the full product and engineering lifecycle from conception to delivery, advancing foundational systems used to run and operate AWS services.

You will work with the broader engineering team and customers to drive adoption, create a long-term strategic roadmap, and grow a talented engineering team with a strong impact on the future of AWS development.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
• 3+ years of designing or architecting systems experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of software development engineers tasked with building or solving complex software problems
• Work successfully with customers, leaders, and other engineering teams
• Shape technical strategy by demonstrating breadth and depth of knowledge in software development disciplines
• Guide teams in software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Make architectural decisions and understand systems design at scale
• Solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand broader context
