Amazon is hiring a Software Development Manager for the AgentCore Memory team in Jersey City, NJ. You will lead engineers delivering a globally distributed, high-throughput service spanning control plane, data plane, and real-time ingestion pipelines.

You will partner with product managers and scientists to define the roadmap, drive architectural decisions, and ensure operational excellence across AWS regions while coaching engineers and building an inclusive, high-performing team culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of engineering experience.
• 8+ years of leading multi-tier web services development.
• 1+ years of providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using Java, C#, or C++.

As a Software Development Manager for the team, you will own a mission-critical service that thousands of builders rely on to bring stateful, context-aware AI agents to life. In this role, you will lead and grow a team of talented engineers building globally distributed, high-throughput services that span a control plane, a data plane, and real-time ingestion pipelines. You will help drive the technical direction and roadmap for a system that blends large-scale distributed systems with cutting-edge generative AI, using Amazon Bedrock to power memory extraction and consolidation. You will be accountable for operational excellence across multiple AWS regions, meeting demanding availability, latency, and security bars for a service customers depend on every day. Along the way, you will partner closely with product, science, and cross-functional engineering teams to define what agent memory should be, while coaching and developing engineers, hiring top talent, and cultivating an inclusive, high-performing team culture.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• 1+ years of providing technical leadership and project management for all aspects of the software development lifecycle experience
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using Java, C#, or C++ experience
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using service-oriented architecture experience
• 1+ years of developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software systems using distributed programming experience
• 5+ years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
