The Role

We’re hiring a Software Development Manager to lead a team building softwaresystems that power our airborne sensor fleet and customer-facing dataplatforms. You’ll oversee delivery of reliable, scalable code that runs both inthe cloud and at the edge—while growing a strong, collaborative engineeringculture.

We’re looking for someone with experience in IoT, edgecomputing, or deploying code to remote devices, who thrives at the intersectionof technical depth and team leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Lead a team of software engineers through project planning,execution, and delivery
• Drive high standards in code quality, testing,observability, and operational reliability
• Coach engineers in technical and professional growth,performance, and ownership
• Partner with Product to align roadmap priorities withbusiness and customer needs
• Manage sprint execution, technical debt, andcross-functional communication
• Support incident response and root cause analysis tocontinually improve system reliability

• On-time delivery of roadmap priorities with minimal defectsor rollovers
• An engaged, high-performing engineering team with strongretention
• Stable, scalable software systems operating in hybridcloud/edge environments
• Clear alignment and communication with product and businessstakeholders
• Predictable, data-driven sprint execution and continuousimprovement

Requirements

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+years managing or leading teams
• Strong foundation in systems design, software architecture,and production operations
• Proven ability to lead technical teams through successfulproject execution
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills acrosstechnical and non-technical teams

Preferred qualifications:

• Deploying and maintaining code on remote or edge devices
• Hybrid cloud/deployed device Kubernetes environments
• Proficiency with Python, C#, and C++ in production systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, andsystem monitoring
• Background in IoT, remote sensing, or geospatial dataprocessing
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, growth-stage environments

• Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and skills.
• This role may require travel.
• This position is based in Bozeman, MT.
  
• Participation in on-call incident response rotation expected.
