Job summary

SilkRoad is seeking a leader to direct a team responsible for designing, troubleshooting, and optimizing the City’s software programs and products. The role focuses on monitoring applications, resolving issues, and implementing relevant trends within the ERP environment.

The incumbent will oversee development tasks, manage a team, and ensure adherence to policies while driving enhancements to the existing architecture and systems landscape.

Qualifications

• Advanced programming knowledge and experience in software design, debugging, documentation and testing.
• Strong grasp of software development fundamentals and applicable city policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversees administration, support, enhancement, integration, and continued development of the City’s Workday ERP environment and related business system.
• Applies software architecture knowledge to manage development tasks including debugging and designing software applications and databases.
• Builds enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggests improvements to the architecture.
• Ensures operational planning meets specifications.
• Manages a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software for databases, applications, tools, networks, etc.
• Supervises staff, prioritizes work, conducts evaluations, ensures training, and enforces policies.

Job description

The purpose of this position is to lead a team to design, troubleshoot, and optimize the City’s software programs andproducts, by monitoring applications, resolving issues, and analyzing and implementing applicable trends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees the administration, support, enhancement, integration, and continued development of the City’s Workday Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment and related business system.
• Applies knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging and designing software applications and operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications.
• Builds enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggests improvements to the architecture.
• Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet specifications.
• Manages a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
• Supervises personnel by prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring adequate staff training, compliance with operation standards and adherence to policies and procedures, maintaining a safe work environment, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
