Description

Apple Inc. has openings in Cupertino, California, and various locations across the USA. The role involves designing, developing, and patenting next-generation connectivity technologies. Collaborate across departments to craft wireless solutions that enhance customer experience with Apple products and services. Engage in hands-on work using diagnostics, analytics, lab experiments, code reviews, and architecture reviews to identify improvements. Work with platform architecture, standardization, firmware, protocol development, system testing, and carrier engineering teams to propose improvements and optimize baseband performance.

Ensure the delivery of robust, customer-friendly software across all aspects of Protocol software — PHY, RF, SIM, NAS, AS, IP, TCP/UDP, and iOS interfaces. Conduct wireless system testing, certification, IoT, and cellular system performance evaluations. Define, develop, and validate cellular modem system test cases for mobile devices using popular test platforms. Utilize Python for test automation and scripting. This role offers a base pay range of $172,931 to $214,500 per year, depending on skills, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field plus 1 year of relevant experience.
• At least 1 year of experience with:
• Wireless System Testing and Certification, IoT, or Cellular System Certification
• 5G NR, LTE PHY, MAC, and higher layer control and user planes
• Defining, developing, and validating cellular modem system test cases
• mmWave challenges or 5G NR standalone protocol
• 3GPP specifications (LTE & NR air interface, PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, PDCP, NAS)
• End-to-end wireless system architecture
• Test automation and scripting
