Job summary

Amazon’s Central Science Team (PXTCS) is seeking software engineers to join a high-impact group that blends startup culture with R&D rigor. You will deliver large distributed projects, write efficient Java code, and own the systems you build, including exposure to AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, and DynamoDB.

With 3+ years of professional software development, you will collaborate across teams to drive design, implementation, testing, operations, and continuous improvements in Amazon-scale

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
• Experience programming in at least one language and building scalable services.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Build highly available, secure systems in a microservices architecture.

Key job responsibilities

• Work with teams across the org to deliver large distributed projects to delight our customers
• Write high-quality, efficient, testable code in Java and other object-oriented languages
• Build highly available, secure, systems in a microservices architecture
• Collaborate with some of the best engineers in the industry
• Own and operate the systems that you build
• Contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvement
• Get firsthand experience engineering client apps as well as AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, DynamoDB and others

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
