Job summary

Amazon Advertising is seeking a software engineer to help design and build services across our advertising ecosystem. You will work closely with end users to deliver customer-focused UX, workflows and web services, and partner with teams to deliver products that move the needle.

The role requires strong coding skills, experience in large-scale distributed systems, and the ability to communicate across technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs and independently implements key features solving difficult software problems for our partners, potentially spanning multiple areas of Amazon’s advertising ecosystem.
• Solves complex technical problems with simple solutions wherever possible.
• Demonstrates knowledge and use of coding and testing best practices.
• Influences the team’s technical direction and maintains a high quality bar, having a direct impact on both software quality and experience for our users.
• Effectively communicates technical and non-technical ideas to diverse audiences.
• Collaborates with peers and mentors to receive guidance, and acts as a mentor to others as required.

Basic Qualifications

• - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• - 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• - 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• - 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• - Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
