Job summary

Photon is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test to join our Dallas-based team. You will drive quality across front-end and web service testing, build automated tests, and optimize CI/CD pipelines in an Agile environment.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of testing experience, strong Java/C#/Groovy skills, and hands-on with RestAssured, HttpClient, JMeter and Angular testing. You will collaborate closely with developers to deliver robust software.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience testing and automating front-end and webservice applications.
• Hands-on experience with Java, C#, Groovy, HTTP, RESTful services, Jenkins, and Git.
• Experience testing Angular web applications.

Responsibilities

• Influence better software design through testing and reliability.
• Write and maintain features and automated tests across unit, integration, functional, and performance tests.
• Support CI/CD with reliable test suites.
• Improve test coverage, release velocity, and production health.
• Design and develop test automation for front-end apps and web services using Groovy/Geb and Java/HttpClient.
• Participate in code and test code reviews within an Agile team.

Job description

Role: Software Development Engineer in Test

Note: F2F interview required and will be done in any of these locations: Dallas TX or Chicago, IL or New York.

• 7+ years of experience testing and automating front-end and webservice applications
• Hands-on experience with object-oriented programming languages (Java, C#, Groovy, etc.), HTTP, RESTful web services, Jenkins, and Git
• Experience testing and automating webservices (HttpClient, RestAssured, JMeter, SoapUI, etc.)
• Ability to investigate and debug issues with front-end applications and web services
• Experience testing Angular web applications
• Knowledge of software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Experience in delivering software in the Agile environment.
• Experience with APIs, RestAssured

Primary Responsibilities:

• Use your knowledge of testing and testability to influence better software design, promote accurate engineering practices, and ensure security and reliability
• Actively participate in the development process by writing and maintaining application features and automated tests, including unit, component, integration, functional, performance, scenario, and interoperability tests
• Support the team in creating reliable, portable, and trustworthy tests, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with team members on improving team's test coverage, release velocity and production health
• Design and develop test automation for front-end applications and web services using Groovy/Geb and Java/HttpClient
• Participate in application code and test code reviews with the Agile team
