Job summary

Busey is seeking a Software Development Engineer for its Core Development team in Wisconsin. You will interpret requirements from customers and product management, deliver solutions within existing FirsTech development frameworks, and apply Agile and QA best practices.

The role reports to the VP of Engineering and expects leadership, SOLID design, and collaboration across a global team to enhance payment processing solutions.

Qualifications

• Requires strong knowledge of C# and .NET frameworks.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and IIS.
• Familiarity with Azure Cloud Services and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of CI/CD and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer and product requirements to design new solutions.
• Develop within existing FirsTech framework using Agile and QA practices.
• Lead and mentor team members and act as SME for assigned platforms.
• Propose architectural changes and process improvements for development.

Job description

Position Summary

The Core Development team at FirsTech creates new solutions for customers using our payment processing platform. Software Development Engineers will interpret requirements from customers and product management, creating solutions within the existing FirsTech development frameworks. Engineers will leverage the best of industry standards related to Agile development and Quality Assurance. This position will report to the Vice President, Engineering.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Use logical thinking and troubleshooting skills to identify short and long-term solutions to customer needs
• Demonstrate a desire and ability to learn new concepts quickly
• Show ability to research and experiment independently
• Demonstrate comfort in taking initiative and ownership
• Leverage abstract thinking and reasoning skills
• Demonstrate familiarity with good coding craftmanship ideas such as SOLID design principles
• All of the above, including; the ability to take on a leadership role within a development team
• Act as a point-of-contact and subject matter expert on assigned application platforms
• Analyze and recommend architectural changes to new and existing application solutions
• Analyze and recommend improvements in overall processes and procedures affecting the development team

Education And Training

• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred; 4-6 years of previous experience required
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of and experience with coding concepts mentioned above, ability to deliver high quality multi-tier application solutions
• Experience leading scrum teams, mentoring others, acting as customer point-of-contact and technical subject matter expert

Compensation And Benefits

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.
