Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an experienced Software Engineer for the Prime Air team in Seattle, WA. You will design, develop, and test embedded or distributed software to enable fast, safe delivery technologies and scale across platforms.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of professional software experience, knowledge of C/C++, and a track record in embedded development. This role offers a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive salary range.

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture of new and existing systems.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Prime Air is seeking an experienced Software Engineer who combines superb technical, research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with our research teams. We’re looking for someone who innovates, and loves solving hard problems. You will work hard, have fun, and of course, make history!
The ideal candidate will have experience in autonomy for robotics/aerospace applications, system design for safety-critical software, and working with a wide variety of stakeholders across the technical spectrum.
Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf

Key job responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, test, and document embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems and services.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience in embedded development in C/C++

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
