Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer II for the Delivery Experience (DEX Speed Tech) team in Bellevue, WA. You will design scalable software, work across front-end and back-end layers, and mentor junior engineers while influencing engineering best practices.

You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver customer-facing features, write high-quality code with solid test coverage, and participate in design reviews to shape the delivery

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

The Delivery Experience Speed Tech (DEX Speed Tech) team is redefining fast delivery for millions of Amazon customers worldwide—enabling “need-it-now” convenience through innovative programs and technology. We build and launch customer-facing innovations across sub-same day (SSD) and ultra-fast delivery services, working at the intersection of software, fulfillment, and retail operations.

Key job responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable software solutions for Speed delivery tracking and notifications

A day in the life

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience


• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience


• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience


• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience


• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience


• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field


• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience


• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
