Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join AWS CloudFront leadership for infrastructure and observability initiatives. You will work on systems with global scale and help deliver secure, low-latency, high-throughput services for a diverse customer base.

You will design and build scalable software, observe fleet health, and drive features across the full development lifecycle in a fast-paced, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, scaling) of systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered systems using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Operate an AWS business with globally distributed servers and customers at a massive scale.
• Own one of the lowest latency and highest throughput services in all of AWS.
• Build solutions to manage capacity and Fleet hygiene.
• Work closely with a team of system and software developers, principal engineers.

• Be in charge of the complete software development lifecycle, defining, prioritizing, designing, building, and testing new features.

• Gain world class knowledge and expertise on designing, building and operating software services at AWS' scale
• Build scalable systems to manage capacity at AWS.
• Create, enhance, and run scalable autonomous services that observe the state of AWS applications and the global internet, make active decisions on performance issues, and inform AWS customers about those issues

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
