Esri is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to design and implement CI/CD and platform automation across enterprise environments. You will build pipelines, optimize Docker runtimes, and advance Python packaging for the ArcGIS API, enabling scalable and secure software delivery.
You will work across cloud and on‑prem systems, implement automated security gates, and help drive everything‑as‑code release practices at scale.

As a Software Development Engineer II focused on CI/CD and platform automation, you will design and implement tools, pipelines, and automation frameworks that enable reliable, secure, and scalable software delivery across enterprise environments. You will work on systems that support continuous integration, automated testing, infrastructure provisioning, and deployment at scale, ensuring that mission critical applications can be built, tested, and released efficiently. This role combines software engineering with DevOps and platform engineering principles, ideal for engineers who are passionate about automation, system reliability, and improving developer productivity in complex environments. Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Washington, DC area for this position.

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is: $97,240 USD - $162,240 USD.
