Job summary

Amazon Leo Commerce Data Platform in Redmond, WA seeks a Software Development Engineer to design and maintain components for Leo Commerce Services. The role focuses on data platform tooling, data access, and SOX compliance ownership within a global cloud ecosystem.

The position emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams across Leo Commerce, Networking, and Satellite groups, driving scalable distributed systems and AI-enabled data solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered or distributed software applications and services.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement globally available distributed cloud architectures.
• Actively participate in overall technical strategy and charter expansion.
• Design core ETL framework capabilities for data from 50+ producers to consumers.
• Own the schema evolution system across Iceberg, Glue registry, and DataZone.
• Solve novel problems at the intersection of AI, distributed systems, and financial domain complexity.
• Define reference architectures, templates, blueprints, infrastructure standards, and data quality frameworks.
• Partner with domain and consumer teams across Amazon Leo Commerce, Networking, and Satellite teams.
• Own operational excellence for components: monitoring, alarming, DLQ/retry, and incident root-cause analysis.
