Amazon Finance Technology is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer to work on STARK - Amazon's Treasury Real-Time Knowledge for Intelligent Cashflow Tracking system. You will build a next-generation, horizontally scalable platform handling hundreds of billions of dollars annually as Amazon expands into a multi-trillion-dollar company. This platform will manage bank balances, cash flows, and financial transactions across all Amazon businesses. Financial expertise is not required; however, experience working with highly abstracted, extensible systems in a multi-tenant microservice architecture is essential.

As a Software Development Engineer in Finance Technology, your responsibilities will include driving implementation decisions, delivering functional components, and mentoring junior engineers to develop maintainable, high-quality software that meets rigorous standards of abstraction and reliability.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced engineers to play a key role in the architecture, design, implementation, and deployment of large-scale big data applications. You will challenge your design and architecture skills by inventing and simplifying complex problems. Strong communication skills, self-drive, and the ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment are essential. You will collaborate with Amazon engineering and business teams worldwide to plan, design, and implement this new platform.

This platform is currently in the architecture and high-level design phase, giving you the chance to build it from scratch.

Basic Qualifications

1. 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship)
2. 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including patterns, reliability, and scaling
3. Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

1. 3+ years of experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations
2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Our compensation package varies by geographic market, ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 annually, based on factors such as location, skills, and experience.
