Description
Are you passionate about building scalable, customer-obsessed software that powers how the world's largest cloud provider does business? The AWS Private Pricing (AFX) team is looking for a Software Development Engineer II to help design, build, and operate the systems that enable AWS sellers and customers to negotiate and manage custom pricing agreements at scale.
Our team owns the end-to-end experience for AWS Private Pricing — from deal creation through contract execution — serving thousands of internal users across sales, operations, and finance. We build highly available, distributed services that integrate with core AWS commerce platforms including Salesforce CRM, RLM, CLM, and OPM. You'll work on challenging problems at the intersection of complex business workflows and large-scale distributed systems, directly impacting billions of dollars in AWS revenue.
This is a high-visibility role where you'll collaborate closely with product managers, tech leads, and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that simplify and accelerate the private pricing lifecycle for AWS customers worldwide.
Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable microservices and APIs that support the AWS Private Pricing platform, ensuring high availability, low latency, and operational excellence
Own end-to-end feature delivery — from requirements gathering and system design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production monitoring
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across AFX, BPO, Salesforce CRM, and downstream commerce systems to drive seamless integration and data consistency
Contribute to architectural decisions, technical design reviews, and code reviews, raising the bar on engineering quality and best practices
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, monitoring dashboards, and alarming to ensure system reliability and rapid incident response
Identify opportunities to improve developer productivity, reduce operational burden, and simplify complex workflows through automation and tooling
Mentor junior engineers, contribute to team knowledge sharing, and foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
Write clean, well-documented, and testable code while maintaining a strong commitment to security, scalability, and operational best practices
