Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer for AWS Marketplace to own significant portions of the product and influence system architecture. You will work across a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality software and reliable services in a fast-growing environment.

The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration with product and engineering partners, and the application of AI tools where appropriate to improve the SDLC and product features.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.

AWS Marketplace manages the state of the art complex infrastructure to provide a smooth experience for sellers and buyers to buy various software and services for different domains like infrastructure software, machine learning, and IoT. We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to help the team take AWS Marketplace to the next level. As a SDE on the team you will own significant portions of the product and will have influence on our strategy by helping define the next wave of product features and system architecture. The systems are complex and there are huge opportunities to work at all levels from a set of robust platform services, to system level pieces and everything in between. You should be somebody who enjoys working on complex system software, is customer-centric, and is passionate about building quality software as well as achieving operational excellence. A commitment to teamwork, hustle, and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are essential. The ideal candidate will have a track record of success delivering new features or products, and passion towards leveraging and evolving Agentic development using AI tools. This person has thrived and succeeded in delivering high quality technology products/services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift fast. This person has design and implementation experience, knowledge of web services and protocols, and an in-depth knowledge of distributed systems architectures.

Key job responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be passionate about solving complex and broad business problems of cloud marketplaces with simple and straightforward solutions, applying appropriate technologies and software engineering best practices, building solutions that scale and perform well. They will own the design and implementation of major deliverables end-to-end. This position requires passion towards Agentic development, and/or curiosity towards leveraging AI tools in AI-SDLC, and collaboration with other engineers on the team, principal engineers, product managers, and partner teams. You should be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and should have a desire to create, iterate and improve.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
