The AWS Artifact team is in the business of building customer trust. When retailers want to understand how they can safely and legally accept credit card payments, they use our services. When hospitals struggle with regulations for handling confidential patient data, that’s us too. Customers or security auditors want to understand the compliance posture of an AWS service? Yup, that’s us too. Our services are used by external customers, security teams and service teams across AWS allowing our team a unique view across the whole landscape of AWS.

Artifact Team is growing and launching new tools and initiatives. Come join a creative team of software developers dedicated to writing code that works at Amazon scale, mentoring junior developers and understanding and improving our agile processes to help us evolve a vision of compliance and security at AWS.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Write high-quality code with thorough test coverage as you mentor new developers so they can learn from your CRs.
  2. Find out what it takes to engineer systems for "Amazon Scale".
  3. Build Generative AI applications.
  4. Truly care about designing highly available, secure, distributed systems of microservices, then you will make them even better by consulting with peers and technical leaders.
  5. Work on Agile projects that have high visibility while making continuous improvements to planning, design, implementation, testing, and operations processes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  2. 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  3. Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  4. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  5. Familiarity and hands-on experience with building Generative AI applications are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  2. Front-end/design experience is a plus.
  3. Experience with Java, JavaScript, AWS services.
  4. Experience with building Generative AI applications are required.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
