Would you like to be part of a team that is solving challenging problems for Amazon’s Physical Stores? Are you passionate about delivering new experiences that delight our customers and building highly available and low latency systems that can scale up to ever expanding customer base. We are hiring an SDE II for contributing to the Physical Stores POS Devices charter.

Physical Stores POS Devices team is one of the tech teams. Our charter is to build software running on devices that enable point of sale systems. This spans across traditional Point of Sale devices and Credit Card authentication in Amazon stores. We work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. We work together to build the charter and implement solutions that make our customer's lives easier.

Key job responsibilities
A SDE II implements solutions for complex problems that are unique to grocery checkout, and are rarely encountered in the traditional embedded world. The SDE II owns design, implementation and operation of on-device software application plus corresponding cloud side services in AWS.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market.
