Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Seattle is seeking a Software Development Engineer to drive agentic AI features and real-time conversational experiences. You will shape product direction, design scalable cloud services, and collaborate with product, design, and data science teams.

As part of the Alexa Connections group, you’ll build low-latency APIs, lead software design and code reviews, optimize performance, and deliver high‑quality software in an Agile environment while mentoring colleagues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Influence product and technology strategy by helping define the product features, refine system architecture, and spearhead Agentic AI and LLM best practices that enable a quality product.
• Build agentic APIs to deliver a low latency, low cost, highly reliable, and high scalable cloud services and device software solutions.
• Drive and lead software design, development standards, team processes and code reviews.
• Optimize software libraries for low latency, CPU and memory footprint.
• Deliver high-quality software through working in a dynamic, team-focused Agile/Scrum environment
• Contributing to the professional development of colleagues, improving their technical knowledge and engineering practices.

As a SDE, you’ll drive the development of next-generation communication features powered by advanced AI technologies, including Generative, Agentic, and Real-time AI. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and data science, to design and deliver innovative solutions that leverage these AI technologies to enable seamless, intelligent communication experiences. You’ll also lead the integration of these advanced AI systems into Alexa’s core capabilities, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
