Unleash your passion for innovation by joining our AGI team as an experienced Software Engineer. In this role, you'll contribute to generative AI projects that shape the future of Amazon's services. Your expertise will support improvements to products like Amazon Q and Amazon Nova, enhancing customer experiences across Amazon's AI offerings.
As a key member of our team, you'll develop and maintain systems that power near real-time content delivery, information retrieval (IR), and grounding (RAG) services. Your contributions will yield more responsive and helpful experiences for customers.
In addition to your work on generative AI projects, you'll have the opportunity to design, develop, and maintain systems that empower Amazon's ability to responsibly understand and interact with web content in accordance with industry best practices. Key job responsibilities
- Design and build scalable systems to responsibly access and process available information from the web.
- Optimize the data processing architecture to ensure performance, scalability, resilience, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop systems to extract meaningful world-knowledge insights through advanced data processing techniques.
- Design and implement data pipelines and infrastructure that maintain data governance standards.
- Collaborate closely with scientists and cross-functional engineering teams to rapidly prototype, iterate, and deploy state-of-the-art algorithms and models that follow responsible AI principles.
- Craft high-quality, thoroughly tested production-ready code using languages such as Python, Java, and Scala.
- Continuously explore and implement innovative solutions to complex technical challenges, in order to advance what’s possible in large-scale information processing.

About the team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
