Software Development Engineer, Active Monitoring

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment, ensuring our customers have continual access to innovation. We work on challenging problems involving many variables and are seeking talented individuals to join us.

You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and others. You will collaborate across AWS to uphold high safety and security standards while providing extensive capacity at minimal cost. As AWS’s network rapidly expands, maintaining availability is critical. This involves quick, safe network changes via automation, minimizing human involvement in scaling activities such as provisioning, cabling, validation, and integration. We treat the network as software, employing continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) for network updates, enabling rapid, safe, and automated changes.

Minimum qualifications

• Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
• Experience designing or architecting systems (patterns, reliability, scaling)
• Proficiency in at least one programming language

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
