Job summary

Akaasa Technologies is seeking a Software Development Engineer for a 6-month contract, with extension potential based on performance. The role is hybrid in McLean, VA, requiring three days onsite per week and USC clearance eligibility.

The ideal candidate has strong Go experience and a track record building backend services in AWS environments, plus familiarity with microservices, REST APIs, and CI/CD pipelines. You will work on Go-based backend systems and leverage AI-assisted development tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating production-grade full-stack applications in cloud environments such as AWS
• 5+ years of experience with Go, Java, Node.js, or C# development
• 3+ years of experience in distributed architectures using microservices or serverless in AWS, Google, or Azure Cloud
• 3+ years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices
• Experience in CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and security best practices
• Experience using generative AI tools to accelerate development, automate coding tasks, and review AI-generated code
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in software engineering, or 5+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree

Software Development Engineer

Duration: 6 month contract to start, extensions from there (all of the contractors we've had at Booz have lasted 1-2 years+)

Location: HYBRID in McLean, Virginia - 3 days per week

Visa: only USC required

Interview: 2 rounds of interview (coding then design/behavior)

Internal notes: GOLANG experience is a big portion of this

Please make sure candidates have these: Must have: Experience developing backend services (i.e REST API services, at least 3+ years) in programming languages like Go (Prefer) or Java/C# (but they will be developing primarily in Go so able to learn and ramp up quickly). Experience building services and deployed to AWS in production env. Experience with using AI tools for development.
