As a Software Development Engineer at CoverMyMeds, you'll join innovative teams to deliver exceptional software solutions that surpass customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the software development lifecycle independently or with minimal guidance, assisting in defining design requirements, refining requirements with stakeholders, and developing/documenting technical designs and processes.
  • Investigate software problems, identify root causes through diagnostic analysis, and code solutions, potentially leading less experienced peers.
  • Write and document code, perform complex debugging, and lead peer code reviews and refactoring efforts under limited direction.
  • Ensure software quality by adhering to coding and quality standards and maintaining a high-quality codebase.
  • Contribute to and/or lead release management processes, including code deployments and validation.
  • Implement monitoring, observability, and disaster recovery solutions as appropriate.
  • Identify and resolve security vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with secure coding policies.
  • Identify opportunities for process and productivity improvements within the team.
  • Participate in cross-team and cross-functional efforts to complete project work.
  • Apply broad software development principles and provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
  • Provide on-call and urgent issue support as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Location and Sponsorship

Candidate must be based in the metropolitan area of Columbus, OH, with primarily remote work flexibility. We are unable to provide sponsorship now or in the future for this position.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.
Critical Skills
  • 4+ years of experience with Ruby, C#, Java, or Python.
  • 4+ years in developing web-based software systems and applications.
  • 2+ years of experience with manual and automated testing tools.
  • 2+ years of experience with version control concepts.
  • 2+ years of experience working in agile practices and methodologies.
  • Experience with performance monitoring and observability.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with TypeScript, React.
  • Microservice and event-driven architecture experience.
  • Experience working with Cloud PaaS (Microsoft Azure preferred).
  • Experience with multi-tiered web systems and complex data-driven applications.
  • Experience with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and tools.
  • Experience with HIPAA-compliant projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
