Title: Software Developer - Web and MES/Ignition Software

Location: Remote (Open to travel onsite to Newport News, VA, 2 trips per month, 2-3 days per trip)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Developer to create adaptable web-based solutions for manufacturing applications using MES Software and/or the Ignition software platform.

Your responsibilities

• Develop responsive web-based manufacturing solutions with Ignition, integrating data sources like SQL DB, OPC, Canary, SAP, Data Warehouse, SharePoint, etc.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, IT, and business teams to define requirements and design effective solutions.
• Ensure solutions are secure, reliable, scalable, and compliant with regulatory standards.
• Create technical documentation, user guides, and system architecture diagrams for OT solutions.
• Provide technical support and guidance to IT, engineering, and operations teams.

Required skills and experience

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Experience working with external data sources via SQL, REST API, BAPI, etc.
• Ability to think beyond standard out-of-the-box software limitations.
• Proven track record of delivering scalable, modular solutions with robust error handling, optimized for real-time performance, and maintainable across devices and environments.
• Strong skills in Python and low-code platforms like Ignition or Mendix are preferred.
• Experience with MES, SCADA, HMI is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in OT systems and architecture, with familiarity in Ignition, Canary, Kepware, Rockwell.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to build relationships and influence across teams.
