Software Developer, Systems Software (CI/CD)

Location: Onsite - Ventura County, CA
Clearance Required: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance (T5 investigation)
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required
Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time | Fully Funded
Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Position Overview

LHH Technology is seeking a Software Developer - Systems Software with experience supporting CI/CD pipelines in secure defense environments. This individual will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and automating modern software delivery pipelines, supporting mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) programs in Ventura County, CA. You will work in a SAFe/Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient and secure software systems.
Responsibilities
CI/CD Pipeline Support

  • Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Agile/SAFe/Scrum frameworks
  • Automate builds, testing procedures, and control gates
  • Ensure smooth delivery, integration, and deployment of software across multiple environments
Pipeline Tools & Automation
  • Design, install, and upgrade pipeline support tools
  • Analyze, develop, and enhance internal development tools
  • Implement automation for test scripts, security scans, and deployment gates
  • Provide detailed documentation and support for tool usage and process compliance
Base Image Management
  • Maintain secure base images with regular updates and security patches
  • Coordinate with development teams to ensure access to compliant environments
  • Document all updates and configuration changes
Feedback & Team Collaboration
  • Contribute to software development planning within Agile ceremonies
  • Support cross-functional feedback loops between teams operating within the pipeline
  • May assist with database design and mentor junior developers depending on program needs
Required Qualifications
  • 3-10 years of experience in software development, DevOps, or CI/CD support
  • Strong development background using C++, C#, Python, and Microsoft ActiveX
  • Proficient in Microsoft Visual Studio, with experience across Windows and Linux environments
  • Familiarity with Agile and SAFe methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on DoD or defense-related software programs
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or similar
  • Exposure to cybersecurity scanning tools and secure coding practices
  • Prior mentoring or leadership experience is a plus
  • DoD 8570 certification (Security+, Network+, or equivalent) preferred
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline
    Substitution Option:
  • 6 additional years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree, or
  • 4 additional years with a relevant associate degree
  • Candidates with 10+ years of experience in a directly related role will be considered
Clearance & Work Eligibility
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance (T5 investigation)
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements
