Job summary

Schwab seeks a software engineer to build a distributed Java-based ecosystem using microservices and modern frontend patterns. You will work with Angular (TypeScript) front-ends and Java back-end services on-site in Soutlake, TX, in an agile delivery environment.

You will collaborate with product owners, architects, and SRE teams to clarify requirements, implement CI/CD pipelines, and deliver resilient web experiences while advancing front-end standards, observability, and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 2+ years of experience with Java, Spring, and web services.
• 1+ years Angular front-end development with TypeScript.
• Exposure to containers and microservices concepts in cloud environments.
• Understanding CI/CD pipeline concepts and cloud deployment workflows.
• Awareness of cloud platforms such as PCF, AWS, and/or GCP.
• Basic knowledge of databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or SQL Server.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop distributed Java-based applications using microservices and modern patterns.
• Build Angular UIs with TypeScript, RxJS, and state management.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and SRE to clarify requirements and standards.
• Participate in the software development lifecycle from design through testing, release and production support.
