Job summary

BizFirst LLC is helping to recruit two Software Developers (Cleared) for a DoD program, fully remote in the United States.

Selected candidates will design, build, and maintain Java-based backend services, RESTful APIs and microservices within a secure, agile environment, coordinating with DevOps, cloud, and data teams, and supporting modernization efforts including cloud migration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Framework.
• Experience building REST APIs and microservices.
• Backend development expertise including design, performance tuning, troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL).
• Experience with Git-based version control.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while communicating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based applications for DoD systems.
• Build and maintain backend services, REST APIs, and microservices architectures.
• Collaborate with DevOps, cloud, and data teams to support enterprise delivery.
• Participate in full SDLC including requirements, design, testing, deployment, production support.
• Troubleshoot and optimize performance, scalability, and security.
• Support modernization and cloud migration initiatives (AWS/Azure GovCloud).

These positions will support mission-critical systems for a program within the United States Department of Defense. The selected candidates will develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise Java applications that support national security operations while working in a fast-paced agile environment with cross-functional technical teams. These roles are well suited for technically inclined backend developers who are strong in Java, comfortable with secure enterprise systems, and able to collaborate across DevOps, cloud, and data engineering functions. Familiarity with data engineering tools and techniques is a plus. What will you do As a Software Developer, you will design, build, enhance, and maintain Java-based applications supporting DoD systems.
