Job summary

LAIKA Studios in Hillsboro, Oregon is seeking a Software Developer Intern to bridge academic CS with production-grade software engineering. You’ll work within our Core Technology team on full-stack tools used in feature film production, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to scalable architectures.

This internship offers mentorship from senior engineers, a chance to contribute to cutting-edge animation infrastructure, and a structured path toward professional growth in a creative production

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in an accredited college or university, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
• Field of study focused on Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or Node.js; strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the SDLC, including requirements, design, prototyping, development, testing, and deployment.
• Refactor existing code to improve performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Develop and maintain unit tests to ensure reliability of production tools.
