Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Software Engineer III – AI services to join the DIS team in Seattle. You will develop scalable AI/ML capabilities, including multi-agent monitoring, semantic retrieval, and AI-assisted decision making for enterprise systems.

Expect hands-on design, architecture reviews, and end-to-end ownership from development to deployment. The role emphasizes low-latency AI services, vector databases, and production-grade pipelines with observability and CI/CD practices in AWS

You will help develop and deliver the AI and machine learning capabilities, spanning multi-agent monitoring, AI/ML Model – Audio/Video and Natural Language to SQL, conversational knowledge retrieval, and AI-assisted decision-making for enterprise. This role requires a hands-on engineer with deep expertise across the full AI/ML development lifecycle, from building multi-agent systems and retrieval-augmented generation pipelines to training and deploying models.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Key Responsibilities:Design and implement scalable, low-latency AI services powering metadata generation and feature extraction with advanced features like semantic search, knowledge graph visualization, and AI-powered recommendations for Natural-language to SQL engine and Audio/Video metadataDevelop and deploy Agentic AI solutions, including autonomous agents, multi-agent orchestration frameworks, and LLM-powered workflows, that transform business processes across Finance, Supply Chain, and other enterprise domainsBuild and manage vector database infrastructure, embedding pipelines, and retrieval strategies to deliver accurate answers to operator queriesBuild models for computer vision, feature extraction, content understanding, and object detection using LLMs, Deep Learning and TransformersOwn features end‑to‑end: from project estimation and architecture review through coding, deployment, and post‑launch measurementBuild resilient systems with strong observability, bringing to bear automated testing, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines using infrastructure-as-code tools like TerraformLead on‑call rotations; drive root‑cause analysis, observability improvements, and operational excellenceRequired Qualifications:BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field5+ years of professional software development experience with focus on building RESTful APIs and AI/ML applications, in cloud environments, and containerized workloads (we use AWS)Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python (Preferred), Java, or Go with and at least one AI/ML framework (PyTorch, TensorFlow)Experience designing and operating RAG pipelines, including vector databases, embedding models, Audio/Video feature extraction, and retrieval strategiesHands-on experience building and deploying multi-agent systems, agentic AI workflows, or LLM-based applications in productionProficiency with Large Language Models (LLMs) for code generation, debugging, and development assistanceKnowledge of professional software engineering practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operationsSolid understanding of CS fundamentals: object-oriented design, algorithms, and problem-solvingPreferred Qualifications:PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fieldExperience with reinforcement learning, including multi-agent RL, deep Q-networks, or policy gradient methodsUnderstanding formal verification, safety-critical systems, or graduated autonomy frameworksExperience building observability and audit systems for AI decision pipelines in regulated or mission-critical domainsResearch publications in machine learning, multi-agent systems, or applied AI, and/or open-source contributionsBase Pay Range for:WA applicants is $164,652.00 - $230,512.80Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon’t meet all desired requirements?
