Job description

SUMMARY

Responsible for contributing to the development of an enterprise portal serving 1 million users. Participate in agile delivery teams to produce new features with high quality and reliability. Assist other developers in owned components and fundamental expertise areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain the existing system by updating and fixing reported issues.
  2. Perform unit and integration testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of the system.
  3. Develop software design documentation and test scenarios.
  4. Participate in software peer reviews.
  5. Seek and participate in personal development to stay current with industry standards, best practices, and business needs.
  6. Provide technical leadership for project components or features.
  7. Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of industry experience.
  • Experience with web application development, troubleshooting, and debugging.
  • Proficiency with tools and technologies such as Docker, Nexus, Git, Gradle, Groovy, Gogo Shell, IntelliJ IDEA, Fortify.
  • Background in full stack development (Java, SQL, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, HTML).
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (generally U.S. citizenship required).
  • Ability to obtain necessary security access and background checks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of computer science concepts (data structures, algorithms, runtime).
  • Experienced debugger capable of handling production issues under pressure.
  • Knowledge of modern software frameworks on server and browser sides, with adaptability to learn new tools.
  • Self-motivated, comfortable working with diverse skill sets including developers and system engineers.
  • Passionate about programming and organized in documentation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with web services, React, or mobile development is a plus.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time, with potential for additional hours as needed.

TRAVEL

Less than 10% travel expected.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license and be insurable. Travel may require driving up to 25% of the time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primarily remote; onsite work may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sitting for long periods, bending, crouching, lifting up to 10 pounds, and manual dexterity for keyboard/mouse use. Reasonable accommodations provided as per laws.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Salary: $80,000 to $110,000 annually.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), paid time off, holidays, and leave options.
