Job summary

College of New Caledonia in Prince George, BC, is seeking a Software Developer II to design, implement and maintain software solutions for business and educational delivery. Reporting to the Manager, Information Architecture, you will work with the IT Systems team to deliver high-value, secure software and to keep our catalogue of custom and third-party applications up to date.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in CS or SE, 2+ years of software development experience, and strong SQL/ASP.NET

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 2+ years of software design and development experience.
• Experience in post-secondary education or public sector preferred.
• Experience with Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, IIS.
• Proficient in ASP .Net, C#, Razor/Blazor, Web APIs, JavaScript, CSS, JQuery, Knockout.js.
• Understanding of Azure development tools and Azure AD.
• Ability to read shell scripts and automate tasks with PowerShell.
• Familiar with source control and CMS like Sitefinity.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Build software modules aligned with project specifications.
• Design web, desktop, and console applications for business needs.
• Write efficient, maintainable code and perform code reviews.
• Plan, test, upgrade, and deploy software to meet requirements.
• Manage code repository, documentation, and versioning.
• Train users on new software and perform DB maintenance.
• Create complex SQL queries and optimize data access.
• Ensure data confidentiality and interoperability across systems.
• Lead projects and contribute to IT services goals.
