Job summary

SAS is seeking a Software Developer - Front-End to join the EVAAS team in Cary, NC. You will build reliable, accessible front-end experiences with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript to turn data into actionable insights for educators.

You’ll collaborate to design scalable components, implement UX-minded interfaces, and work with back-end services. Hybrid work requires three days on-site per week in Cary HQ, with strong emphasis on quality and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related quantitative field with 2-5 years of professional full-time experience.
• 2+ years developing front-end applications using React and JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience using modern front-end build tools and package management, including NPM.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Location: Cary HQ, hybrid (minimum of 3 days in the office per week).

About the job

As a Software Developer on the SAS EVAAS (Education Visualization and Analytics System) team, you’ll create front-end experiences that help educators turn complex data into clear, actionable insights that can make a real difference for students.

As a Software Developer, you will:

• Utilize your React, JavaScript, and TypeScript skills to build highly reliable, tested, and user-friendly front-end experiences
• Design and deliver scalable, maintainable front-end components and workflows that support the EVAAS web application
• Use your front-end development knowledge and UX mindset to help shape the future design of our web application

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related quantitative field with 2-5 years of professional full-time experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with:
  • Developing front-end applications using React and JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Developing and delivering responsive, accessible Web-based applications
• Experience using modern front-end build tools and package management, including NPM
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with the following:
  • UX design principles and collaborating on user-centered interface design
  • Design and prototyping tools such as Figma

  • Integrating front-end applications with back-end services
  • Git and GitHub
