Software Developer Engineer, Last Mile Delivery Technology

The Last Mile team helps get packages from delivery stations to a customer’s doorstep. Our tech team innovates with a globally connected fleet of smart delivery vehicles, including gasoline-powered and future electrical vehicles.

Our team combines cutting-edge vehicle IoT technologies (sensors, embedded devices, wearables, robotics), real-time data streams (video, vehicle telematics, location, presence), machine learning models, and algorithms to improve delivery speed and quality.

As a key member of the Connected Vehicle team, we seek a Software Development Engineer to develop solutions for accessing and utilizing sensors within our current fleet and to design future delivery vehicles.

You will understand integration from edge computing to cloud analytics, user application UX, data processing pipelines, and big-data analytics tooling. Experience in developing large-scale applications, especially in consumer or industrial sectors, is preferred.

This role demands autonomy, results-driven work, and the ability to build v1 products within ambiguity. You should work efficiently to create excellent customer experiences.

Key job responsibilities

1. Develop advanced motion planning strategies, sensor data integration, and enhance autonomous platform safety and efficiency.
2. Bachelor's or higher in Robotics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
3. 5+ years of experience in motion planning/control systems.
4. Expertise in motion planning algorithms, control theory, ROS, and programming (C++, Python, MATLAB).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience programming in at least one software language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
