Job summary

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Inc. is seeking a Software Developer/Engineer to develop system software for robotic diagnostic sample management.

You will work with a diverse team across mechanical, electrical, chemistry and systems engineering to deliver reliable near real-time software on production hardware. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 8+ years of experience, leadership responsibilities, and strong debugging and design skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 8+ years of experience in software development or related occupations.
• Experience developing in C# in MS Windows software development environments (Visual Studio) and .NET.
• Experience designing multi-threaded applications and interprocess communications like WCF and message queues.
• Experience in fault-tolerant/high-availability software and advanced-level debugging in Windows environments (windbg, VS debugger).
• Experience with bug/issue tracking tools and configuration management like ClearCase and TFS.
• Experience using Klocwork and Source Monitor to improve code quality and test design rdExpert.
• 5+ years as a lead software developer and as Technical Lead mentoring technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop system software for robotic diagnostic sample management systems interfacing with Siemens instruments.
• Design and implement algorithms to process data from sensors, scanners, and LIS/LIS into actions controlling the system.
• Lead a team of software engineers across design, architecture and milestones.
• Coordinate with cross-functional engineers and stakeholders.
• Travel up to 10% domestically/internationally.

Develop algorithms and complex software to process data obtained from the robot sensors, bar-code scanners, user input, and LIS/LAS into scheduled actions to control the Sample Management System. Work in an interdisciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, chemistry, and systems engineers to design and implement software to achieve highly reliable near real-time performance on production hardware systems. Responsibilities include integrating multi-threaded, multi-process components into MS-windows environments. Duties encompass the range of tasks from requirements analysis, design, prototyping, coding, unit testing, integration testing, and systems testing of the software. Direct a team of software engineers in complex design, architecture and development topics to deliver software modules as per established project milestones. Serve as technical expert of the team and apply advanced technical skills to resolve complex system level problems. Up to 10% domestic/international travel required.**Qualifications:** The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field and Eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or in an acceptable alternate occupation.
