United Airlines in Chicago, IL invites a Software Developer for Customer Care Technology to design, develop and modify software applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable digital solutions for our customers.

You will implement backend components in Python, use AWS Lambda and Step Functions, apply secure SDLC practices, contribute to documentation and unit tests, and support deployment and ongoing performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Proficient in Python programming, AWS Lambda and Step Functions.
• Hands-on experience with AWS CloudFormation for serverless deployment.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of SDLC processes, inputs/outputs, standards and best practices.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of development methodologies, software design and design patterns.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

• Bachelor's degree
• Computer science, software engineering, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of software development experience
• Proficient in coding language and building back-end components
• Proficient in Python programming, AWS Lambda and Step Functions
• Hands-on experience with AWS CloudFormation for serverless application deployment
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of SDLC processes, inputs/outputs, standards and best practices
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of development methodologies, software design and design patterns
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the application of development domain areas and specific technologies and tool set
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

The base pay range for this role is $89,965.00 to $117,212.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
