Job summary

deciBel Research, Inc. is seeking a Software Developer in Dayton, OH to join a collaborative team building and maintaining software systems. You will assist senior engineers, write technical reports, and help deliver well-designed, secure features across the software lifecycle.

The role requires a BS in CS or CE and up to four years of relevant experience, with Scrum, CI/CD, and GitOps familiarity; U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar degree.
• Up to four years of relevant software development experience.
• Experience deploying new secure systems and networks.
• Experience applying and following Scrum framework principles.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps principle.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary to coordinate and communicate with executives, external partners, and project stakeholders.
• Proficiency with cloud-native security tools (e.g., AWS CloudTrail, Azure Security Center, GCP Security Command Center) is preferred.
• Applicant selected must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, as required by the position. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Software Engineers with routine assignments.
• Apply fundamental knowledge of operating systems and programming languages.
• Work on well-defined problems and learn under direct supervision.
• Possesses sufficient writing skills to prepare and generate technical reports and other documentation pertinent to the position.
• Produce well-written designed, testable and efficient code that meets technical requirements.
• Ability to work closely with users to troubleshoot code defects and deploy timely fixes.
• Participate in a highly collaborative team environment, contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle.
