Job summary

AMEWAS seeks a Software Developer (WSCE)–Journeyman to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. The role involves developing software for an advanced synthetic training environment and integrating it with flight simulators to train pilots against threats.

You will operate in a DoD-relevant, on-site setting and contribute to demonstrations and customer training. The candidate will work in a DevOps‑driven team, review C/C++ code, and gain exposure to cross‑platform development (Windows/Linux).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or an equivalent accredited program.
• 3 years of relevant work experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience with C/C++ and scripting languages (Bash, Python).
• Experience with Git, Jira or similar tooling in a scaled agile environment.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD security clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for an advanced synthetic training environment.
• Integrate software into flight simulators to support pilot training against threats.
• Support software development, integration, training and demonstrations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of standard programming algorithms and OO design.
• Work within a DevOps environment with automated builds and multi-OS deployments.
• Evaluate and review C and C++ code and optimize performance.
• Develop software requiring parallel processing and inter‑process communication.
• Create simulations of complex environments or platforms in real time.
• Collaborate with team members to plan future enhancements.
