Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a cyber software engineer to lead full‑stack development of cloud-based applications and microservices. You will develop secure solutions for cyber operations, including threat protection, while collaborating with teams across hardware, software, and cloud domains.

The role requires strong experience with Java, React, and modern datastores, plus hands-on use of Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and AWS in a CI/CD context. An active TS clearance is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 9 years of relevant experience or a Master’s plus 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with CI polygraph within the last 5 years.
  • Proficiency with Java, JavaScript/React, Gitlab, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, and modern datastores.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack cloud-based applications and microservices.
  • Develop secure systems for cyber operations including threat protection and prevention.
  • Lead teams and contribute to software development standards and processes.
  • Develop/modify software to meet performance and functional standards.
  • Collaborate across teams to integrate software into new or modified environments.

Designs, develops, documents, tests, and maintains full spectrum cyber solutions. Develops and automates secure systems to support cyber offensive, defense and full spectrum cyber operations. Conducts vulnerability research, reverse engineering, penetration testing (red/blue teams), develops and integrates low-level firmware, and/or develops specialized cyber software solutions and tools based on mission requirements. Applies system knowledge of subject matter (hardware, software, networks, cloud, etc.) to conduct research to evaluate potential vulnerabilities and develop new capabilities to exploit and/or mitigate vulnerabilities.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • 9 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree plus 7 years of relevant experience.
  • An active Top Secret clearance with CI polygraph within the last 5 years.
  • Java, JavaScript frameworks (React), Gitlab, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, and modern datastores (NoSQL, Relational, Object).
Desired Skills
  • Familiar with: spring, Kubernetes, docker, Terraform, Swagger and AWS managed services. System Requirements decomposition, release planning, CI/CD, Test frameworks and automation, and Agile Methodology. Familiar with FOSS & GOTS
  • Cloud Experience: Shall have one (1) year demonstrated work experience with full stack development; front-end, API and backing datastores. Shall have demonstrated work experience with Spring Boot microservices, 12-Factor applications, serialization such as JSON and/or BSON and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
  • Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
  • Debug existing software and correct defects
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
  • Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
  • Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
  • Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards
  • Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components
  • Write or review software and system documentation
  • Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas
  • Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
  • Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
  • Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $166900.00 - $309900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
