Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is developing a unified system to manage the complete lifecycle of internal libraries, including creation, qualification, consumption, and deprecation. This role focuses on designing scalable solutions that prevent the use of deprecated or unapproved libraries, reduce manual remediation efforts, and improve service reliability. The engineer in this role will work closely with service owners, build infrastructure teams, and compliance stakeholders to define and implement OCI-wide governance mechanisms. These include build-time validation, policy enforcement, and visibility into library health and adoption. This work addresses systemic gaps that have led to customer-impacting incidents and plays a critical role in improving development quality and operational resilience across OCI. Additionally, the role will contribute to long-term technical direction for the team and support efforts to restore sustained engineering leadership following the departure of a senior technical contributor.

Responsibilities

This role is responsible for driving the technical implementation of OCI’s library lifecycle governance systems. The engineer will lead efforts to introduce automation, enforce policy compliance, and provide visibility into internal library usage across all OCI services. In addition to system development, the role includes collaboration with partner teams and mentorship of junior engineers to ensure long-term maintainability and adoption.

• Design and implement build-time validation and enforcement mechanisms to govern library usage.
• Develop systems for tracking library health, qualification status, and adoption metrics across OCI.
• Partner with service teams, CI/CD platform owners, and compliance stakeholders to align on standards and rollout strategies.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to architecture reviews and design discussions.
• Support long-term strategy for improving engineering quality through automation and policy-driven governance.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 - $223,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
