Job summary

Addison Group in Skokie, IL is seeking a Software Developer to build and maintain integrations between the organization’s ERP platform and other business systems, primarily using GraphQL and REST APIs. The role also supports internal applications built with C#/.NET, JavaScript, and jQuery in a Microsoft environment.

The position requires 1-3 years of software development experience, strong SQL Server skills, and familiarity with behavior-driven development and Git.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1-3 years of professional software development experience in a business environment.
• Experience with C#/.NET and JavaScript including jQuery.
• Strong MS SQL Server experience; writing, modifying, troubleshooting queries and stored procedures.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Familiarity with GraphQL or willingness to learn quickly.
• Experience with system integrations and data exchange between apps.
• Experience using Git or other source-control platforms.
• Experience with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, SSRS, Power BI Report Server, or similar.
• Familiarity with behavior-driven development and Gherkin syntax, or willingness to learn.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to research and learn new technologies independently.
• Ability to translate operational needs into technical solutions with stakeholders.

Primary Purpose

The Software Developer will build and maintain custom applications and system integrations that connect the organization’s ERP platform with other business-critical tools and applications. This role translates defined business requirements into reliable, well-tested software solutions that improve data flow, automate processes, and provide internal teams with the tools they need to operate efficiently.

Position Summary

The Software Developer will work closely with the Information Systems team to design, develop, enhance, and maintain integrations between the company’s ERP platform and other business systems, primarily utilizing GraphQL and REST APIs. The role will also support the development and enhancement of internally built applications using C#/.NET, JavaScript, and jQuery. These applications support a variety of operational and administrative workflows throughout the organization. Development is performed primarily within a Microsoft technology environment. Solutions are expected to follow established development standards and undergo appropriate testing prior to deployment, including behavior-driven testing scenarios where applicable. The Software Developer will develop a strong understanding of the organization’s ERP data structures, APIs, integrations, and business processes in order to design scalable and maintainable solutions. This position operates within a business environment that includes manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, and corporate operations. The developer will interact directly with stakeholders across multiple departments to understand business processes, identify technical requirements, troubleshoot issues, and translate operational needs into effective software and integration solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 1-3 years of professional software development experience within a business environment.
• Experience developing applications using C#/.NET and JavaScript, including jQuery.
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience, including writing, modifying, and troubleshooting queries and stored procedures.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Familiarity with GraphQL or demonstrated ability and interest in learning GraphQL quickly.
• Experience developing system integrations and exchanging data between applications.
• Experience using Git or another source-control platform.
• Experience with reporting technologies such as Crystal Reports, SSRS, Power BI Report Server, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with behavior-driven development and Gherkin syntax, or willingness to learn.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical solutions and processes.
• Ability to independently research, learn, and apply new technologies.
• Comfortable working directly with business stakeholders to understand operational workflows and translate business needs into technical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing GraphQL APIs.
• Experience working with an ERP or other enterprise business application.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, supply-chain, or similar operational environments.
• Experience developing within Microsoft Visual Studio.
• Experience integrating ERP platforms with internal or third-party business applications.
