Brooksource is seeking a Software Developer to join our Public Sector client’s IT division. The role involves delivering complex application development, coordinating deliverables, and mentoring junior staff.
You will translate business needs into technical requirements and contribute to architecture decisions. The position emphasizes collaboration with PMs, developers and architects, along with documenting solutions and ensuring robust, scalable software delivery.
The Software Developer works in Brooksource’s Public Sector client’s information technology division, under general direction, carrying out a wide variety of complex application development activities and reports to the programming Supervisor.
The Software Developer performs a range of activities abroad within a state‑of‑the‑art Information Technology area. Work involves using considerable judgment in selecting the most pertinent guidelines to follow and in-depth analysis of multiple variables to fit various circumstances of a medium to complex enterprise‑wide system. Incumbent applies general Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles and industry standards to accomplish agency automation goals.
The Software developer work has a direct influence and impact on the agency’s ability to successfully administer the business operation to achieve agency mission, policy and/or practice. Technical instruction is generally not needed; however, employees may seek guidance when unique problems arise. Work is reviewed for adherence to deadlines and compliance with policies, standards, procedures, and achievement of the desired objectives.
