Job summary

J.F. Taylor, Inc. in Maryland is seeking an Unreal Engine Software Developer (Modeling & Simulation) to build real-time simulation software for aviation training and mission rehearsal systems at Patuxent River.

You will collaborate with the Visual Systems Team to integrate graphics, IGs, and OTW environments used in piloted simulators, and design high-fidelity 3D environments, aircraft models, terrain, and effects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain real-time simulation software using Unreal Engine for aviation training and mission rehearsal systems at Naval Air Station Patuxent River.
• Collaborate with the Visual Systems Team to integrate real-time graphics, Image Generators (IG), and out-the-window (OTW) environments.
• Design and implement high-fidelity 3D environments, aircraft models, terrain databases, and visual effects for immersive simulation scenarios.
• Develop and optimize real-time rendering pipelines, shaders, and performance tuning for stable frame rates and low latency.
• Integrate Unreal-based visualization with simulation frameworks, avionics models, and external data interfaces.
• Support visual database development and maintenance, including terrain generation, texturing, lighting, and environmental effects for OTW systems.
• Participate in system integration, test events, and troubleshooting within laboratory and simulator environments.
