Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer to support Naval projects in Dahlgren, VA. This role will design, develop, integrate, and test software for DoW weapons and sensor systems as part of a systems and software engineering team delivering mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities include developing software in C and C++, using Git and Jira for configuration management and tracking, supporting CI activities, performing requirements analysis and design, and collaborating across engineering

Qualifications

• 0-10 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or another applicable technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with C/C++ software development and with software development tools and configuration management processes.
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Must have an active secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

The Software Engineer will work as part of a systems and software engineering team supporting mission-critical applications and modernization efforts.

Minimum Requirements:

• 0-10 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or another applicable technical field, or equivalent experience in lieu of the education requirement.
• Experience with or knowledge of C/C++ software development.
• Experience with software development tools and configuration management processes.
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an engineering team.
• Must have an active secret security clearance Note: U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior software development or systems engineering experience supporting Surface Combat Systems or DoD Weapons Systems.
• Experience with embedded systems and real-time operating systems.
• Experience with Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) algorithms.
• Knowledge or experience with hypersonic trajectories.
• Systems engineering experience supporting the development and integration of software systems on surface ships and subsurface boats.
• Experience with the integration, testing, and evaluation of software using hardware simulators.

Compensation Details:

$110000
