Job summary

BCore in Chantilly, Virginia is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Mission Services team building a new application that uses a large language model to normalize data and access policies for compliance.

You will collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and peers to translate requirements into scalable, secure software, operate in a Scrum cycle, and participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support.

Qualifications

• BS degree and 6-10 years of relevant experience.
• Expertise in microservice-based Java and Angular applications.
• Experience with secure RESTful APIs.
• Experience with AWS and scripting to install/config code in EC2.
• Relational databases experience (Oracle or PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with Scrum agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Build a new application using LLM to convert data and access policies into a uniform format for compliance.
• Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop with scalability, testability, and performance in mind.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and manage Jira backlog; on-call rotations for after-hours support.

Responsibilities

You will be part of a team of developers that are building a new application that utilizes LLM to convert data and access policies from a variety of sources and formats into a uniform format for compliance assessment. The Developer works closely with product owners, business analysts, and other teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. The Developer will analyze and decompose complex software systems and develop with scalability, testability, and performance in mind. Our work rhythm revolves around the Scrum agile framework to deliver incremental enhancements on a monthly cycle. Developers actively participate in planning deliverables and grooming the Jira backlog. We rely on team collaboration to continually fine tune performance and ensure clear communication. Developers also participate in a team rotation of O&M responsibilities: They are required to be on-call for after-hours support approximately one week every three months.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• BS degree and 6-10 years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience developing microservice-based Java and Angular applications
• Demonstrated experience developing secure RESTful APIs
• Demonstrated experience working with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL
• Utilized Scrum agile techniques to manage workload and incrementally build out applications to meet customer requirements
• Experience using Amazon Web Services
• Ability to write custom scripts to install and configure code in EC2 instances
• Experience working on a team to define system architectures and the design of new features
• Knowledge of Git, Jenkins, or Rundeck

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience building and deploying applications on Spring Boot
• Understanding of Identity Access Management (IAM) Concepts
• Experience with design patterns and best practices
• Experience with integration testing frameworks
• Documented open source contributions, technical certifications, continued education

What you can expect from us

• The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $190,000 - 230,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements. This is not a guarantee.-
