Amazon Web Services - Software Development Engineer

Amazon Web Services is seeking experienced software development engineers to help define and shape the future of cloud computing. This role is within the EC2 Networking team, focusing on building a new platform that introduces new features with AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC).

In this position, you will provide leadership and management for a development team to innovate and deliver core data plane software essential to supporting EC2 Networking. It is a hands-on role requiring broad engineering skills, in-depth technical knowledge of data plane software development, DevOps practices, continuous integration, infrastructure tools, and distributed systems. Experience in planning, organizing, refactoring, and managing software projects in a dynamic environment is also essential.

Basic Qualifications

1. 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship)
2. 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scalability
3. Proficiency in at least one programming language
4. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
5. Working knowledge of networking protocols like TCP/IP and UDP
6. Some experience with lower-level software development interacting directly with hardware, using languages such as C, C++, Rust, Java, or Python, is preferred
